What is eDiscovery?

Electronic Discovery is the process of acquiring and processing data from electronic systems, such as desktops, laptops, external hard drives, mobile devices, cameras, smart sticks, and networks or servers in order to preserve and produce documents relevant to litigation. But that’s not all.  Unlike paper documents, electronic documents include metadata or the history of the document.  Metadata is also discoverable and can include everything from the title of the document, its subject, author, the location at which it is saved, dates and times it was created, accessed, edited and printed.
